Football Friday at Recess!

Fridays are always exciting in the Fall!

This week we got our class blog going. The students are very excited to blog and read their classmate's blogs.( Our Class blog. ) So far, we have made our posts visible only to our class but the plan is to post for other classes to read and comment on our writing.

Amber and Autumn are excited to join chorus this year. Amber is also happy to start flute lessons and be a member of the band!

Multiplication Fun!

I love making videos with the kids. I have been trying to find free video editing software that they can use with Google Drive. I like this one but the "green screen effects" are not in the free version. Also, I need a better green screen!

TGIF!

Another week over. We are starting to get used to the routine and the days are going by quickly! Next week will be our first full week of school.

Mikayla is volunteering in the room on Fridays and she is a HUGE help! She is working on her master's degree in Occupational Therapy at Elizabethtown. The kids really enjoy working with her.
The Safety Patrol is doing a great job. They have recently taken over the job of taking the flag down at the end of the day.

And finally, it is the first home football game tonight. The kids are really excited. CBAA also has a game on Saturday. Devon is on the team and got a new hair with our logo. ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Basketball Video

I saw this video on youtube and wanted to share. I shared it with my basketball team but also wanted to include it on my blog.

Thoughts on the start of the year....

My goal this school year is to keep this blog updated weekly with pictures and a few thoughts about the week. So far the school year has been hectic but I am feeling positive.

I will be using Hybrid learning for some of my groups which requires the students to become more independent. We spent the past few days trying to be more independent and to problem solve! We are using computers often in our independent groups. The kids are getting really good at getting online, navigating the web, and remembering their usernames and passwords! I am thinking it is going to be a great year!
